try this first: erase these files:
AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab 8\Preferences\General.dat
AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab 8\Presets\MultiWindowLayout.last
Maybe it’s enough rather than reinstalling.
Uninstalling does not affect the eLicense.
