Steinberg outlines upcoming reorganization of European distribution model
March 11, 2008
As of 1st July 2008, Steinberg Media Technologies GmbH will change the way it distributes its range of music production products in several European territories.
From this date onwards, Steinberg will offer dealers and resellers the additional opportunity to purchase Steinberg products directly from the manufacturer, as well as from distributors. This direct distribution model will be managed via a centralized purchasing and fulfillment structure based out of the company’s Hamburg headquarters. As well as this, Steinberg will expand its e-commerce activities to include a new European online store which will offer both traditional boxed and new download-only products for sale to end-users.
Steinberg’s goal is to provide enhanced service to both dealers and end-customers and, in return, use this increased contact and feedback to improve its product portfolio and strengthen its position in this dynamic market.
Interested dealers and resellers specializing in music technology, post-production and pro-audio are invited to submit their details (Dealer Name & Address, email, etc) to the dedicated email address now (dealerenquiry[SB]steinberg.net). A Steinberg sales representative will contact you to follow up your enquiry. Additional information will be made available shortly on the Steinberg website.
Steinberg will be offering the following new services to European MI and music technology sales channels:
• Local sales/business development and product specialist teams to provide dedicated staff for dealer and industry activities including sales programs, product workshops, dealer training, special projects, artist relations, etc.
• Dedicated resources for regional market development and channel marketing
• Centralized marketing communication and PR resources
• Centralized purchasing, fulfillment and account management via Online Business-to-Business Webstore
• Centralized multi-language technical support for dealers and end-users
• Expanded functionality and usability of the “MySteinberg” web portal
These changes will apply to Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and the United Kingdom. Steinberg will service these markets via its current network of distribution partners until 30th June 2008.
To support this change, Steinberg is currently recruiting staff who will be located in, and responsible for, each of the territories above. These positions are also available for viewing at the Steinberg booth at Musikmesse Frankfurt 2008.
