01 090 Dmin-b Copywritten material?

Post by Pagliacci » Sun Jul 06, 2014 12:54 am

This track in LoopMash seems to be copywritten as Sound Of The Night by Mirny Atom... I was under the impression all audio shipped with a VST instrument was un-copywritten and royalty free. Am I wrong?

Further investigation reveals Sound Of The Night by Mirny Atom was released Aug 01, 2009
℗ 2009 Blue Pie on the Ambient Melodies Pt. 1 collection. This can be found on iTunes pretty easily.

Are we safe to use this audio in our own compositions or not?

Aloha P, IMHO it does not really matter.

What I was taught by many A&R guys of the recording music business. (do they even exist any more?)

Use what ever material you want because no one is going to sue you if the work goes nowhere.
Reason: No $$ involved.

If the work does make $$ you now have the means to pay off the suit
but you also have a hit song and no one can ever take that away from you.

Then going forward just release your own stuff and 'bob's yer uncle'.

Win-Win for all parties.
Once/if you get the hit. :) :) :)

Good Luck!

Hi,

You are safe to use it in your productions! (but not to make your own sample libraries using our loops).
