for MR816 And cc121 its already done 5 days ago by updating their drivers. (dont know the others dont have them)
Actually, all existing issues with Steinberg hardware will be solved with corresponding Tools Updates and the 7.0.2 Update on 18.02.2013.

One question though: has the issue with selecting a Channel in the MixConsole causing the deselection of the selected track in the Project Window been fixed? i.e. MixConsole and Project Window are linked, and they shouldn't be.

Thanks,
Mahlon
We have the Preference "Keep MixConsole and Project Window in sync" already implemented in an internal build. However, it didn't make it in time for 7.0.2 but will be part of the Cubase 7.0.3 Update.
cmbourget wrote:Hi Helge, I was wondering if buying 7 included Cubase version 6.5 ?
Yes, a valid Cubase 7 license can be used to run any lower Cubase version such as Cubase 6.5, even Cubase SX3 for importing old VST projects.
aljames wrote:That sounds positive Helge. What roughly are the control room improvements?
Al
The Control Room now displays values and a meter for the monitored signal at all times. In the Meter > Loudness tab you can find an EBU R 128 logo in the “Configure Loudness Settings” window. Deviations of values from the default EBU R 128 Loudness Settings are indicated in the logo. By clicking on the logo you can reset all values back to EBU R 128 defaults.

just a quick question:
Is this Issue "[R-4323] Notepad: Text are not saved!" resolved in 7.0.2?

Does anyone know if we will also be able to export these type of tracks? one of my projects keeps crashing every time I add new 3rd party vst (or open, or try to copy / move or when duplicating tracks with 3rd party inserts); so what I thought of doing, was to try to export everything I can & import to a new project...

thanks

Helge thank you, but it would be nice to know where and how. I go everywhere on the site and do not know where to get 6.5. I only see the update.

Helge?

Sorry to be a nudge, but since you're making appearances here: Any improvements to the grid colours? Pretty much invisible.

I just want to say Cubase 7.01 is totally unstable. Today alone it has crashed on me 5 times. The worst part is: it totally FREEZES and the only way it can be closed is to open task manager and end process.

It is 2013 and we are on version 7 and Steinberg Cubase still can't be trusted in a professional environment. And don't blame it on my hardware or anything else because I have competent machine and updated drivers, etc. Cubase 6.5 was stable. 7.01 is garbage. I pray 7.02 resolves these crashing issues. This is unacceptable

While I'm at it, I'll add i think it's crappy that Stei8nberg dumped its old forum and reset everyone's JOINED date and made us all look like newbs, even those who have been with them since back at Version 1. Really crappy. And they've not ONCE shown us loyal users any love on the upgrade prices. Really pitiful

rant off

PS: the grid colors SUCK. Give us better contrast options and finer resolution lines in arrangement view where many of us do ALL of our chopping!!!!!!!!

Helge, Is there any chance of incorporating some extra Cue Sends in an update soon? 4 just isn't enough. Another 4 would be perfect and you might sell double the audio interfaces! :)

I also have used Cubase 7 everyday since it first arrived, and it has never crashed on me yet.

Occasionally you can get a pop up window (from a plug in) that gets hidden behind other windows and it may appear that Cubase has stopped working, because it is waiting for input from this hidden window.

No solving for the CPU problem for Mac users.

No solving for "hidden mackie channels"

Hopefully that will coming soon.

I'm working on Logic right now because C7 has a major CPU problem.

Both is driving me crazy!!!!

Further is Cubase 7 really stable for me

Been using Cubase 7 for many hours on end since its release and not had one crash. And I have two UAD cards, a PowerCore Elemental with Access Virus and a ten year old emu 1820m sound card.

Cubase 7 is solid.

m203 - it is this sort of moronic out pouring that really hacks many of us off. It is clear to me that you have some serious issues with your set up that you have made no effort to sort out. If you are as experienced as you say you are, you would know that Cubase is made up of many parts, many of which are not under SB's control. One or more of those parts is making your system unstable. You just need to find it.

C7 is not perfect and I am aware of how much work there is still to do by the SB team but unintelligble garbage like this does not help the process along.

Rant off!

Most parts on my main system is 64-bit (though some only exist as 32-bit) >> Windows 8, Cubase 7, Midex8, CC121, MR816 CSX, Padshop Pro, HALion 4, the built-in plugs, a slur of other brand plugins, an additional chunk of freeware and a load of hardware synthesizers.

My system has remained stable in contrast to some on this forum. Please understand that I don't doubt claims of systems crashing or hanging. However, it is difficult to see how some people have so many different problems, and others have so few. I am not saying there are no bugs or inconsistencies, because obviously there are.

(I should state that I do have a C6.5 system standing by, just in case. :) )

+1 i couldn't of put it better myself , all thou i do feel for people with the issues they are having and im one of the lucky ones with no "show stopping" issues BUT there has to be something more to the instability of c7 than the software it's self but i do hope you all sort what ever issues your having out and enjoy c7 as much as what i am ;)

Likewise here, Cubase 7.0.1 is even more stable than 6.5 was for me. Haven't experience a single crash since I started using it about a month ago. No issues yet. Sorry for those who do have them though. Hope Steinberg fixes these soon.

Just had another hard crash "Retrologue threw an exception." Nice.

My system is stable. Works flawlessly with Vegas, Studio 1, Sonar, Wavelab, Final Cut, blah blah blah. The only kit I have trouble with is Cubase and its exception throwing. "Cubse has become unstable" I have seen that error many times. Not acceptable. No other apps do that

Are you using the 32 bit or the 64 bit version?
64 bit now. I had been waiting for the 64 bit UAD drivers, though I still have a few old favourites that (so far) seem to be working fine with jBridge.

What can I say? It works as it should. I also have the 32 bit version installed and for what little I've done, that seems to be fine as well.

I empathise with those having problems but have no idea why.

ETA: Cubase is not perfect though. I still get the occasional hang on exit, though that has been an ongoing issue for ages and not specific to Cubase 7.

If the fault was with Cubase then logically we would all be having the same issues. Have you tried completely uninstalling Cubase and staring over?

I understand your frustration but venting on a public forum is unlikely to win peer support for tracking down the real cause of your problem.

Totally agree, M203, why don't you start a thread and let's see if we can come up with a solution to get you up and running...

Ranting in this thread is not gonna score any points, get you answers but even more so, it won't solve your problem because no one knows anything about it. :geek:
