I remember reading that there was a CC121 issue, whatever the issue is, was it fixed in the upcoming release?

Thanks

I hope there will be a keycommand to toggle mono - stereo in the ControlRoom.
Would be great to assign it to a user button on my Nuage!

Personally i don't give a sh*t for all those improvements stated, if only the performance would be up to par with C6.5.

Just my 2 cents.

Also a slope of 48dB (instead of 24dB) would be great for the Low Cut and High Cut !

Explained very well in original post. I use this every day and it's completely broken in Cubase 7.

Sorry, but if I fix a pitch that varies, cutting segments and tuning with "straighten pitch" seems to work excactly as before in my system...no more artifacts than in C5....Could it be system-dependant?
Perhaps you should make a audio comparison and post that instead of just your screen captures to make it crystal clear what your problem is?
I aslso think that the moderators have to acknowledge an issue in the "Collected Issues" before it even gets on the fix-it list. I guess your problem is probably not even on the map yet...a fix is therefore not to be expected.

Just correcting pitch is fine, it's when you move notes...
Try cutting a note and then "moving" it up a 3 or 4 semitones, you'll find it sounds awful with a straight line to and from the note unlike it is in 6.5.
Why moderators haven't responded is beyond me ( and a load of others)...
And yes, I DEFINITELY expect a fix!!

I see...it's when you do extreme pitch changes of several semitones, I have not used variaudio so much for extreme pitch changes/making totally new notes, just for correcting the slightly off tune ones.
Why Steinberg weould change this to the worse, baffles me. Perhaps it has to do with the new auto-harmonise functions and the chortdtrack implementation, wher you can specify soprano/alto/tenor for the larger variaudio pitch changes?

It's not only extreme pitch changes. I only used that as an example, it happens on any note movement, just not as obvious.

OK. I stay corrected...
I suggest you make a totally reproducable and clear replication of the problem for steinberg to aknowledge if it is a problem/issue or by design. With audio files included and comparisons with C5/6 projects using the same variaudio cuts and pitchshifts. (I suspect this is by design or a sideeffect of trying to improve the variaudio function) :(

NOT done IMHO, only vague suggestions and screenshots, no comparisons of audio from C5/6.
No clear reproduction sequence either.
I don't get it, and I really want to understand the problem. i will try to reproduce it myself.
I would not count on the Steinberg moderators getting it in a snap either.
It took several weeks to get them to acknowledge this problem with distortion at the controlroom output:
http://www.steinberg.net/forum/viewtopi ... 79&t=29804
- and it seems it won't get fixed with the 7.02 update even if it is a very serious issue and has finally made it to the Collected Issues departement. So do not to have to high hopes on the willingness of Steinberg to acknowledge the problem! I have had TIMING problems with variaudio now that I THINK I didn't have before, so I do have a feeling something has changed. But you have to at least consider the fact that it is changed by purpose or design.

Rico Suave, no doubt.

But boy I sure do miss that GRID. They finally got the grid sorted in C6 (for tuplets) and then they take away the ability to -see- the divisions in C7.

OTOH, it's pretty prompt... which is very cool. Hopefully there'll be enough bandwidth for an .03.

Cheers,

I thought the screenshots did a great job explaining the issue. Not sure why Steinberg's moderators wouldn't "get it".

I can understand your frustration; its never brilliant when you've invested time/money in new gear and it doesn't perform as you expect. But for clarity:-

- the CMC series hardware was built when v7 was just work-in-progress (vapourware)
- presumably you can still use v6.5 and your hardware together, if you're really missing it/can't work without it type situation..?

Just saying, its an option to think about.

Bob

PS:- v7 release was 5th Dec 2012, so will only be 10 weeks if they keep close to 18th feb release for CMC update..? And, one of those weeks was Xmas/New Year holiday. ;)
