HALion String Section to - what?

I still have an old version of the HALion String Section.
What is my upgrade path, please?

Hello Neil,

I'm sorry, but there are no upgrade paths anymore for this VST Instrument since the "big" HSO version has been discontinued.

Can you please explain why this keeps happening?
I mean, Steinberg (& partners) have produced some truly outstanding plugins over the years, all of which vanished without a trace....TL Audio EQ1, WarpVST, Surround Edition (which we were promised would be superseded in Nuendo but it has not yet even been equalled)
