Hello.
I have the same problem for obvious reasons (Macbook 13", late 2012, running on Sierra).
BUT when i try to install the firmware update (v1.9.10.) my computer does exactly the same: shut down (“internal error”) the moment i connect the interface and klick on “start”. without connected interface there is no way of updating, is there?
