why is there barely any volume when I select 96khz from the Steinberg app within Control Panel - compared to the super ultra loud volume that comes when selecting the 44.1khz option?
Now when I say super loud i mean it. Its ear shattering compared to the barely audible 96khz option.
Inside cubase, where the ASIO driver is used, its the same. No issues. Its only using the (presumably) directX option called “Line” inside Windows 10 thats causing this issue. Why?

The sample rate does not have to do anything with volume. Certainly it is something else you are doing wrong.
Windows sound and Cubase ASIO sound don´t have anything to do with each other in general.
