[FR] Create custom macro pages

Post by No1DaBeats » Wed Jul 31, 2013 1:07 pm

I guess this won't work properly without a scripting tool..
But I'm eager to learn the commands
Surface Book 2 (i7 16GB), Steinberg UR28M, Yamaha KX 49, Steinberg CMC CH, PD, TP & QC, Cubase Pro 9, WaveLab 8.0.2, Halion 6, Groove Agent 4

+1. I hate having the macro tab empty on 99.9% of my loaded samples, because they are custom, user based samples and not the factory ones, so have no means of a usable macro page becoming available. I would love to be able to say, via a template, plug in and assign certain controls you would like to see, while omitting the rest. The zone page is awfully cluttered when you only need a few controls at a time when working with a particular sound.

another +1 here , because there would be a hope that some sample library developer (or even yourselves) could make librarys for H5 and integrate commands of the needs for the library in the macro page (like suggested scripting)

If this won't be realized I want at least an unlimited number of
quick controls.

Another +1 here. Hacking xml is fine if that's what's involved.

Yeah. But when they'd create a gui for this reason..
Whoa. Awesome! ;)

Using a scripting editor is like using DOS instead of an
OS that has an UI. More possibilities. But really uncomfortable.
But if this is the necessary evil I'm okay with it.

I have a FR in to have multiple QC banks that we can recall

That'd almost do it for me. You can set the qc behavior from knob
to button, so you can cover most functions with them already.
The most important thing to me about the macro page is that you can
make your own programs look pretty.

Ok, then let me correct myself:
An unlimited numer of QCs for the program.
The QCs of the layers do not count. ;)

+1

This nullifies my previous request!

See Trilian as an example of how this could work elegantly.
To me this is better than QC.
