Recording MIDI channels to separate tracks in S3

Post by Par_sonic » Sat Nov 03, 2012 7:39 pm

I know you can easily record MIDI on one track in S3. Is it possible to record all 16 channels of MIDI data from a Korg i3, assigning each channel to its own track in S3. The reason is I would like to experiment with some of the great sounds on S3 and use the MIDI data to trigger them. Doing this would hold the song arrangement allowing me to mix and match as I please.
If it can be done, is there a tutorial?

Subject has had a few views but no pointers yet. Looks like I might need to purchase a light version of Cubase, just to get the MIDI data onto separate tracks. Then import the tracks, one at a time into S3. Unless someone has a better idea.
Downside means I will now have to learn two programs....not good when I only have a basic knowledge of midi.
Advice anyone?
