HP Z620 Xeon E5-1620v2 in 2019 - Cubase Pro 10.5

Post by Aquelar »

Dear Steinberg users,
After 10 years without music, I just bought new Cubase Pro 10.5 (my last version was Cubase SX).

Now, I know this should come first  , I need a computer dedicated as DAW.

I have a good opportunity to get a HP Z620 based on Intel Xeon E5-1620v2 @3,7GHZ.

My question is simple can I use it szfely for audio work and if yes, is it an issue to use ECC Ram ?

Thank you.

Hi there

I have 128 GB of ECC ram in my dual xeon rig. And I have never had any issues at all.
Cubase Pro 10, Dual Xeon E5-2670, 128 gigs of ram, Samsung EVO 860 1 TB primary, Samsung EVO 960 2 TB secondary, Komplete, Waves, Softube, a bunch of VSTi's, Prism Sound Titan.

Yes you can use the above mentioned PC as a DAW. It would work just fine. There would be no problem if you'd use ECC ram.
Just go ahead with your buy and Cheers.
