[Narration+Strings] Quarter-to-One Man - Streets of London

A deeply heartfelt narration of Ralph McTell’s lyrics to his song ‘Streets of London’. The narration was recorded from a phone-in BBC Southern Counties radio broadcast in 2005. All that is known about the narrator is that his name is Mick (surname unknown) and that he has a Northern (British) accent. He would often call the radio station late in the evening and recite the lyrics to popular songs. Due to the exact time of his calls, he was known as the “Quarter-to-One Man”.

I have spent a long time cleaning the audio which suffered from a lot of background noise.

I added a touch of reverb and understated chords from the ‘Streets of London’ song and created a slideshow of photographs of London’s homeless.
