We are very pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of the maintenance updates version 8.5.30 for Cubase Pro and Artist. The updates greatly improve the compatibility with MusicXML exports for imports into Dorico. Also the stability across different areas of the applications has increased besides several resolved issues that these updates provide.
Final update without new video engine? Broken promise? Steinberg statement from Oct 2016:
This will enable us to provide the new video engine still in Q1 2017, which would be in accordance with the current schedule. Consequently, the engine will be available for future releases of Cubase/Nuendo and in cost-free maintenance updates for current Cubase Pro 8.5.x/Nuendo 7.0.x versions.
Quicktime was outdated, abandoned and insecure for more than 6 months of the sales period of 8.5. So you promised to bring an update for this version to remove this dependency.
Unfortunately the schedule as described by Timo Wildenhain and the goal to have the new engine in Q1 2017 could not be realised and hence the new video engine did not make it into the final maintenance update of 8.5.
Not fulfilling a statement like this is not good. Are words simply not worth anything anymore? Where is the integrity…
