Cubase 8.5 ASIO Driver Multi-Task

Post by BillyRae » Fri Nov 17, 2017 1:55 pm

I am attempting to load Cubase 8.5 along with Guitar Pro 7. Stand alone they work just fine, but if I load Cubase first, GP7
will not load period. If I load GP7 first, Cubase will load but will not find the ASIO Driver. I'd like if they both ran together to edit compositions. I am using Quad Capture 2x2 as the ASIO. Any assist will be appreciated. Win 10 OS

Hi and welcome,

One ASIO driver cannot be shared among multiple applications by specification.

I read somewhere that if you use ASIO4all, then it's somehow possible to run multiple ASIO drivers thru it.
Win 10 (64 bit), 3.5GHz i7-4770K, 32GB RAM, Sabertooth Z87, Samsung SSD 850 Pro 512GB, RME fireface UFX, Novation 61SL MkII keyboard controller, Yamaha HS7 monitors. Cubase Pro 9.5.21 [build 3], HALion 6, HALion Symphonic Orchestra, Dark Planet; Ozone 8 Adv, Neutro 2 Std, Rx6 El; Sonarworks Ref 4.

With ASIO4ALL you can use multiple audio devices within one driver, but not one driver in multiple Applications.
