Hey everyone so this JUST started happening out of the blue. I didn’t just recently install anything new so I don’t know why it’s happening now. When I go to open Cubase 8.5 on Windows 10 it hangs on initializing Ableton Live. Please help. Why would it initialize Live anyway? I looked in all the plug in folders and there’s nothing related to Live in them. Maybe it was set to scan for plugins in the Live folder? I don’t recall every doing this especially recently as I’ve used Cubase just the other day.

Ableton Live ReWire is initialised. There is an issue, because Ableton Live installs a ReWire component to an unexpected folder, and then there is a mismatch in ReWire in Cubase.
Since Cubase 9.5, the ReWire is not initialised by default once starting Cubase. You have to enable it manually.
The solution for you is to find the ReWire component and remove it.
