is there a reason why Wavelab needs to name the clips, markers, and “stereo audio files” with the vertical bar character instead of a dash in the first place?
The idea was to use an “unusual” character, to highlight the fact that this is a dual mono file source.
Not more than this. This is a very old choice, and maybe a unicode character could be used instead of |.
