I am not 100% sure if I understand what you were confused by… but it sounds like maybe you have 1+1+1+1+1+1/4 showing in the score and you want 6/4 showing? If so, add the square brackets ([ and ]) around the addition part, and that will show you 6/4 (it will add all of the 1s together). So [1+1+1+1+1+1]/4 will display 6/4. Same as [2+2+2+3+2+2]/8 will produce the 13/8, but it will beam in the grouping you did within the square brackets ([ and ]).
