Suggestion: toggle include rests in slur

Post by LAE » Thu Jun 15, 2017 11:13 am

Hello,

at the moment a slur will always cover both notes and rests when a whole bar is selected. But what if there was an option not to include rests in the slurs? In that way one could easily add slurs to a bar like this, just by highlighting the whole bar and pressing 's'.

Coming from Finale, I am using a plug-in that does exactly that. The plug also have lots of other goodies worth taking a look at, like adding slurs en masse by beats or number of notes.

This is a nice idea, which we will consider for the future.

This is a nice idea. I can envision hitting "s" to slur everything and "alt-s" to slur any contiguous notes within your selection but breaking at each rest. That would be rather elegant and right in keeping with the Dorico ethos methinks.
