Not much left here to moan about then, Forum posts will decrease with 80% :)
Can't wait for the update
I doubt it....there'll be:

1. Why only 16 insert slots?
2. I still can't run my old 32 bit plugins, why not?
3....etc
;)

It really does look like a pretty special update, particularly for a .5!

I mainly concentrated on beta test and followed the GUI topic for this release.
Interesting Fabio - for those MAC users reading this, can you reveal any news to them about that very hot concern of theirs..? Was the survey/questionaire useful in the end..? Are they about to see the results of that exercise in this release.?
[EDIT} oops.! @Oliver.Lucas beat me to it.
There can not be enough users asking this question :D
Ha.! It doesn't even affect me - but I just want to see you guys happy.! More happy users = happy SB devs; which equals more good stuff to come for everyone... :)

Pro 9.5 is built on a new graphics sub-system, we very much hope that it addresses the GUI issues.
It should be way better on Mac, indeed. But I mostly test on Windows, honestly - the difference with 9.0 is pretty evident though.
I guess I'll be asking Mac users about their experience quite a bit in the next days :-)

The survey was very useful to understand the extent of the GUI issues (which was not as wide-spread as we feared... but more than we hoped ;-) ) as well as collecting useful data about what you guys think about the application, its performance, which specs you have, etc. The GUI topic was well-known before the survey (which took place when 9.5 was in beta already), it has been a priority for almost one year now.

Hey Fabio,

thanks for taking the time to appear on the forum. While I sense the careful phrasing you are using on this topic, I hope that the new graphics sub-system will live up to our expectations. I also hope that if it is really fixing the problems users are experiencing I hope that a fix will make it into Nuendo 8 fast, because it is simply completely unusable on my systems. You need to click 5 times to trigger an action once....

I'm being careful because I've learned the hard way that it doesn't matter how good a release looks during testing, we'll actually see the results when it's wide-spread. I'm sure you understand :-)
Don't want to go too OT here, but for the clicking, we checked several reports and could not find anything 'wrong' - most of the time the 'standard wait time' for click actions can cause this.
If you are using a Magic Mouse or similar devices, perhaps try to play around with the swipe and click timing in the mouse preferences and see if that helps.

Cubase 9.5 is now up in the shop and can be bought, :) This looks like a great update with so much that has been asked for from users, congrats on this release I will be heading into the shop soon. £51 for update from pro9, a little more than I had thought but not surprised as it is quite a major update.

Sounds like it could be a great update. As usual I'll wait a bit before purchasing to see what bugs are found in mass use that weren't detected in beta.

Nice to see the full and update only installer available on launch day. Getting the update one now, so I can play sooner will grab the full for a fresh install tonight! In my head doing a full fresh is always the best option!

So has the standard wait time changed from N7.1 to N8.1 and is it not power user friendly anymore?
Then, every pro user should be affected.
I am using a Logitech G300 here. On N7.1 you click and things happen, on N8 you click wait to see that nothing happens, so you click again....and again...and again....and again.....
We'll see what the reports that will undoubtably come in during the next days have to say. I'm still hopeful, but actually my cheese graters are 7 years old now, so maybe that's just not good enough anymore.

Please, look at my screen recording:

It's NOT a mouse problem (I use Logitech Performance MX and Apple Trackpad, with the same issue).
In other DAWs (Logic, Pro Tools, Studio One), everything is working fine as expected!

Got the update download finished! Can not find the Version History PDF for the new update anywhere. I have looked all over the website, the download package and the download assistant tool, Is there one yet? I like to read through and see all the small fixes and tweaks that have happened along side the big new feature and updates! Quite often I discover something new I had not know before!

Hi stilus,

I see your video recording and I have seen something similar on my system, so here's a couple of questions which may help to narrow down the problem.

1. Do you get the same behaviour when using the ruler to relocate?
2. Do you get less problem when zoomed out and more problem when zoomed in?
3. Does the problem get worse when in play or stop mode?
4. Does the problem get less when you click and release really quickly?
5. Are you moving the mouse slightly when you click do you think?

Also, is there a separate thread specifically for this issue to save us going off topic? It would be good to try and narrow it down in another thread if not.

Mike.

P.S. On topic - Also very excited about the new release, v. nice features!!

9.5 projects load in older versions, but automation will only include the 'main automation points', disregarding the curves.
Attached a snap from a 9.5 project's automation with curves and the same project opened in 9.0.

Cheers,

Missed this one previously. They are discarded, Pro 9 notifies you that the project includes more inserts than available and those is excess will be discarded.
Didn't personally test this in previous versions.

With the new 64-Bit mixer processing, does anyone know if I can use VST3 plugins in 32-Bit? I ask because I have a few big projects and they have VST3 plugins all over and the project is almost hitting CPU limit. I assume that if all of these all of a sudden start running at 64-Bit, it will go over the top in CPU.

Anyone know yet?

You can switch between 32-bit and 64-bit processing when you want. Not all VST plugins actually support running in 64-bit precision yet, so they will run as normal. You can see this in the VST Plug-In Manager and from the top right arrow button, select "Show plugins that support 64-bit processing"

This should answer you question I think. https://helpcenter.steinberg.de/hc/en-u ... processing

Pretty sure it mentions internal processing runs in 32 bit unless you change it to run 64 bit so you should be fine. That is if I understood your Q properly.
