Understanding Logical Editor

Post by jcbfoos » Fri Jul 12, 2019 7:46 pm

Hi, I use the logical editor a lot and really love it, however there is one feature that is totally lost on me (despite reading the manual). So I'm hoping someone can help... =)

Specifically, parameter 2 of Last Event. It seems that with parameter 2 you have to guess at what number to enter to get various features . So for instance if you create a logical editor that has Last Event/Equal/Midi Status/176. The 176 = controller data. But how would anyone know that? Is there a list or guide somewhere that I'm missing? What does 175 equal? What does 53 equal? What does any random number equal?

Also depending on what is selected for parameter 1 all this changes again. Which I understand, but it would be really great if there was a reference guide somewhere.

Is anyone else as lost as I am when it comes to "Last Event"???

MIDI status codes are standard. Have a look at the list here: https://www.midi.org/specifications-old ... atus-bytes
