AI vs. Artist/Elements - features comparison

Post by TmTmClb » Sat Mar 24, 2018 3:32 pm

Hi,

Currently evaluating Cubase 9.5 and generally liking it compared to the 5 other DAWs I've looked at.

I saw that an AI version is included with the UR22mkII box. I'm wondering what that version includes compared to Artist and Elements. The Steinberg comparison page does not show AI...

AI is the same executable file as Elements but with fewer Tracks and Plugins (Artist and Pro are a different executable file) as the main difference. There did used to be a comparison somewhere from an earlier version, so might be worth searching.

Here's a post from the version 9 days (only last year), so things will likely be the same with regards to the missing elements.

Note that not only you'll be getting Cubase AI for free with your UR22mkII interface, it also acts like a $50 off voucher for any other version of Cubase. Just activate your Cubase AI license and then go to the Steinberg shop to upgrade it.
Every time someone says "it must be easy to add/fix", a programmer dies.

Cubase Pro and Wavelab Pro (latest), Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, MSI Z87-G45 GAMING, i5 4690k, GeForce GTX 760, almost every Steinberg plugin and expansion, Trilian, Komplete 10, etc etc etc etc

It may be worth looking at the plug-in reference manual. Across the top of each plugin, it says which versions of cubase include it.
Win 10 (64 bit), 3.5GHz i7-4770K, 32GB RAM, Sabertooth Z87, Samsung SSD 850 Pro 512GB, RME fireface UFX, Novation 61SL MkII keyboard controller, Yamaha HS7 monitors. Cubase Pro 9.5.21 [build 3], HALion 6, HALion Symphonic Orchestra, Dark Planet; Ozone 8 Adv, Neutro 2 Std, Rx6 El; Sonarworks Ref 4.
