Cubase 9 score editor

Post by brawnt_0353 » Mon Mar 26, 2018 12:39 am

This is no doubt in the wrong section.
I haven't bought Cubase 9 so can't say it's an issue.

I would like to know whether there are any plans to incorporate any score features from e.g. Dorico in a future Cubase release.
It's interesting that the Steinberg forum doesn't recognise Dorico as a valid word.

I have Cubase Pro 7.5, and have been recently using some of the excellent audio-processing features.
However most activity goes into producing scores from MIDI data.
The score editor works very well for my needs, but some operations are a bit clunky.

A comparison between the 7.5 and 9.5 Score manuals seemed to indicate there are only minor, if any, differences.

I am not going to spend a couple of hundred pounds more to purchase features which I am unlikely to use.

Thanks

I'd be very surprised if Cubase ever got more than small tasters from Dorico, to give more than that would be to kill of Dorico I would guess.

Not sure what you mean about the forums not recognising Dorico as a valid word. I got 17,550 results from a "Dorico" search. And only 17,081 were in the dedicated "Dorico" forum.

Thanks for answering, Planarchist. Agreed.
I can save myself some money, then. 7.5 works fine for me.

When I type Dorico in here, in the text box under Subject in Quick Reply, the spell-checker puts a spelling error red line under it.
Seems odd for a spell-checker in fora which feature Dorico as a significant source of discussion.
The "full" editor does the same.

The spell checker is on your computer, not the forum.

Dorico is not being integrated with Cubase at this point, not because of market strategics, but more due to it being a very different animal from the ground up. .
