Export to video

Post by eepyikes » Wed Nov 14, 2018 10:21 pm

When the new video engine came out, it was stated on the forum by Steinberg that the ability to export to video would be added like this year in Cubase 9. Whatever happened to that? We need it for scoring films, it's a real workflow killer to have to export to Protools and lay it in there for every cue we have to send out for approvals.

I can't believe that version 7 or 8 had it but version 9.5 and now even 10 with such relatively expensive upgrade price doesn't have this basic capability!

I don't think 7 and 8 had it. They had that weird/useless thing where it exports a separate audio file from the video, and puts a link to it in the video. Not the same thing, and try sending those files to a director

I know it's hard to please everyone with an app/user base this big, but this one has gone far too long.

Very disappointed.
Maybe Steinberg wants to dedicate Cubase updates to EDM producers and songwriters? :?

Yeah... It's really time consuming to have to import into another program and merge. Quicktime Pro does it, Final Cut, Imovie etc.
I just downloaded an older version of Cubase just for replacing audio in video.
Hopefully they'll include it in the next update - it's pretty major for working with sync

v8 had it, I used the feature really often, but it exported a WAV into the video, so many portable devices (phones, tablets etc) couldn't deal with it. Steinberg please, bring back export to video, and now with AAC!!
