tempo changes and buffer size

Post by Aldersyde » Fri May 17, 2019 12:50 am

I'm finding that when my buffer size is below 1024, my tempo changes (in the tempo track) will make my playback sputter to a stop.

This behavior see,s to be new in Nuendo 10.

Hi,

Isn't it just because your CPU is overloaded when you use Buffer size < 1024?

No, outside of the tempo changes everything is working fine and my processor isn't being hit that hard. I've had plenty of processor intensive music before but never had the program stop completely with a tempo change. This is an issue that has popped up in Nuendo 10.

I wonder if default timestretch algorithms might have changed as of N10? More demanding algorithms? Might explain it.

Just a thought.
