Moving WL Preferences and Shortcuts to Another Computer

Post by Justin P » Wed Apr 03, 2013 1:19 am

I just picked up a laptop for some remote editing, prepping etc. in Wavelab and I'm wondering how I can easily transfer all the shortcuts and other settings I've setup on my main version of WL over the years. I know I did it a year or two ago but it took a few tries so I'm wondering if PG or somebody could share the easiest way to do this.

Also, when WL8 comes out, will these settings transfer or will I have to start over? I'd for PQ to say not to bother installing WL7 because WL8 will be due out in a few days :D :) ;)

Thanks,
Justin

If this is from WaveLab 7 to WaveLab 7:

You can copy this folder to your new computer:
Windows 7
C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab 7\
Windows XP
C:\Documents and Settins\[UserName]\AppData\Steinberg\WaveLab 7\
Mac:
/Users/YourName/Library/Preferences/WaveLab 7/
Also, when WL8 comes out, will these settings transfer or will I have to start over?
There will be a possibility to copy settings, when launching WaveLab.
