overlapping quarter note heads.

hi.
what is the mechanism to get the d/f# to share noteheads with the stem going both up and down on opposite sides ?
I can’t seem to find it in the notation options.

thx,

I’d do it on an individual basis. Select in Engrave mode, and from the properties panel, set Voice Column index to zero.

Dorico won’t do this by default because it’s unclear when you have chords with differing numbers of unison notes how many notes are truly belonging to each voice. But as Dan suggests, you can force it to do it by way of the ‘Voice column index’ property: select a note in the down-stem voice and set this property to 0. But please consider whether this is really clear for your musicians to read.

“it’s unclear when you have chords with differing numbers of unison notes how many notes are truly belonging to each voice”.

didn’t really understand that part since I entered the chords explicitly on each voice via a midi keyboard.

Nevertheless, I have rewritten that section, so this is not an issue anymore. Thanks
