Use Cubase 6.5 trial in parallel of Cubase 6.0.x

Hi, I want to try out the new features of Cubase 6.5 before purchasing the upgrade. I installed the Cubase 6.5 trial on my MacBook Pro with Lion and found out that it REPLACED my productive Cubase 6.0.6 environment. :astonished: (O.K., I know: RTFM  )

I could downgrade to Cubase 6.0.6 by restoring following folders from Time Machine:

/Applications/Cubase 6.app/
/Library/Application Support/Steinberg/
/Library/Documentation/Steinberg/
/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Steinberg/

(have I forgotten something?)

I still want to try out Cubase 6.5. Is there a way to use it in parallel to Cubase 6.0.x on the same machine like I did with Cubase SX3 and Cubase 4/6 in the past, when I migrated my old VST-projects?

Read through this thread. Not sure there i a definitive answer though.

Thank you, I havenā€™t seen that thread. Thereā€™s no solution in that thread but Iā€™m glad to see, that I am not alone with this problem. I think Steinberg allows to install different major releases in parallel, but 6.5 is NOT a major release. Itā€™s a pity, because the update is not free so an easy trial were great.

The way I ā€œtestedā€ should work (hopefully), so I may try it again in some weeks, when I can pause using my 6.0.x Version for some days.
