I have been trying to follow this thread as I, too, have the same problem…W8 is crashing on startup. I downloaded your png but I don’t see how I can get to the diagnostics when it won’t let me open the program. I’m not sure what holding the Alt key is supposed to do; it just opens up the properties of the icon for me; I’ve even went right to the program file itself (not the shortcut icon).
So here’s what I have:
I’m running both 32 and 64 bit Win 7 Ultimate on an i5…the 64bit W8 works fine but my UAD cards are 32bit, so that’s out. I actually only put it on the 64 bit side to practice the install first.
I have an RME FF400 soundcard. I tried disabling the internal soundcard, but nothing changed.
I do have PT9 though. Do I have to uninstall that and reinstall? I don’t use it much since Cubase 7, but I don’t need another problem. I recall jumping through hoops for that install too.
I hope this can be resolved fairly quickly as I’m looking forward to working with it this week.
Did I see a version 8.01 or is that what I downloaded?
