Opening a C6 project in C5

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been answered but I’d like to check if this is supported. Last night my kind friend put some bass on a track and I did the recording in Cubase 6. Nothing fancy - He played his parts to a mixed wav-file and I will send the track with the bass to the mixing studio where the full projects is.
However, out of curiosity I tried opening this C6 project in my Cubase 5.5.2 that I have also have installed on the same computer. C5 complained about some corrupt data but it actually opened the project fine.
So; will it be possible to open C6 projects in C5 (of course I know some plugs aren’t there and stuff)

Usually new releases are upward compatible only. It is not possible to maintain downward compatibility.
So you can open C5, C4,… projects with C6 but the opposite is not true.

The problem is not limited to “new” plugins but also to the audio engine, internal EQs, parameters…
