This is a classic case of someone being quick to criticise when in fact they should learn how to use the software properly. 
There is a drop down menu at the top right of the mixer page… choose the ‘Zoom’ submenu and uncheck ‘Use Standard Zoom Commands’. You can then have completely independent zoom key commands for the mixer and the arrange page.
