Sound Libraries for HALion 5 on patchpool

Here is a bunch of finalized patches in one slightly world music inspired, ambient soundtrack, including a crotales sequencer, granular bassflutes, deep drums, a lead flute (the Pars-Pro-Toto-flute explained in the video above) and a sound bowl synth.

A video explaining/demonstrating the granular patch “Mysterious Flute Scanner” which is basically 3 keyswitchable patch variations in one preset:

A rather epic ambient track featuring three finalized patches from this library. I am now at 101 patches and roughly 4 GB of samples, on Tuesday there shall be the sample lock, it’s already a huge library.

Another rather elaborate video explaining three more patches from Aureus Ventus:

I am now at 107 presets and 4 GB of samples, and I’m forcing myself to stop it now

A new demo featuring three finalized patches, one being the Glockenspiel Synth which has 3 key-switchable variations in one preset, KS 1 → pure, KS 2 - > unison mode with detunable voices (Modwheel), KS 3 → combined with a HALion synth module - 3 velocity layers/3x round robin. The other 2 patches are Granular Violins (multisampled/chromatically sampled violin, long bowing) and Bamboo Resonances.

Explaining two break drum presets from Aureus Ventus in this video:

All patches are ready and I am now writing the PDF for this library. I’ll post some more vids and demos during the next days. Whoever is on the fence about this, grab it soon if you want to save some money.

There’ll be 107 patches and 3.99 GB of original samples in this library.

Explaining three whale drum patches from this library in this video:

Probably the last audio demo for Aureus Ventus, four patches in this rather nice and warm pad feature:

EDIT:

Demonstrating several crotales patches rom this library:

Microtonal bar chimes - 7 textures split across the keyboard with 3 different key-switchable modes - played with a screwdriver meet multisampled microtonal flute trills, some trills have 3x round robin, sampled chromatically over 2+ octaves, there is also a granular version of these trills used in the lower register. Rather bizarre, quite surreal…

If I don’t fall of my chair before I might make it until tonight, only 30+ patch descriptions to write and patches to tag.

This library has now been released, I updated the first Aureus Ventus post in this thread accordingly. HALion rocks!

Hi!

Excellent work Simon!
Please can you create a picture for the Library (H5 can use specific Library-pictures.) Now I use your “Aureus Ventus Logo” but the format isn’t quite good (Halion uses 90x60 px icons)

Thank you, I just made 2 different 90x60 icon jpg, it’s attached to my post. Maybe try it and let me know if the resolution works. I never used these icons before and the latest version of HALion creates an image itself I saw, so I did not bother with it.

EDIT:
I just checked the factory images for HALion libraries, they are in 96x246 px and png, so the 90x60 format you mentioned seems odd.

Hi!

Halion uses only hist "standard icon with USER-label.
If I use my own picture, Halion saves it as 90x60 px.
The factory-icons are bigger (with 3 states?) But I don’t know, how to create AND use the 3 states.

Hi Congrat for the lib but just one thing Keyswitch doesn’t load in Expression Map

I made some custom ones awhile back for some of my other libraries … Like Sonic Cinema.

On windows it’s in C:\ProgramData\Steinberg\HALion\LibraryInfo
I can’t remember the exact size, but if that bitmap is named the same as the loaded library it show in the instrument select.

Thank’s. I am not familiar with Expression Map tbh, so I shall investigate.

I will learn how to do all of this.

Here is another little video featuring the patch Flute Quencer, a bass sequencer made from/with a flute sample using very small grain sizes, increasing them with QC1 brings back some of the original flute sound.
