Is there a way to route VE Pro directly through my audio hardware, bypassing Nuendo?
Yes, there is. Just open VE Pro as a stand-alone application, not in server mode. You will have to use (virtual) MIDI instead of VST connections, and you won’t be able to route audio directly from Nuendo to VE Pro.
Be aware that in this case your audio hardware will have to support multi-client operation if you want to use VE Pro side-by-side with Nuendo on the same machine.
