Thanks for the information, deleting defaults.xml files did the trick 
Prock, I just did another search on the Cubase Operation manual and came up with no hits???
Anyway, lesson learnt, I wont be checking any āplease donāt ask againā boxes!!!
FYI, to find the correct folder I just searched my hard drive for: default.xml and then deleted it!!! How easy was that
