Personally no, since I use the full version of Cubase.

The other guitarist in my band uses Elements 7 however. He has Dark planet.
It is on our common list of plugins we are allowed to use.
www.hairthieves.com for the band stuff (indie pop rock soundtracks)
sineglidermusic.bandcamp.com/ for the instrumental stuff

A vst plugin is a vst plugin and should work in all versions of Cubase.

i have elements 8 and use dark planet. its fairly simple to use. Run through HALion or on its own. load a preset and there you go! loads of cool sounds. yes you need the Eliscencer for DP but u get that with it. Try the trial version then upgrade to the full if you like it!

check out my music on soundcloud. there is use of dark planet on the track "forever".

Compatibility
Dark Planet can be used as an independent instrument in VST 3, VST 2 and AU compatible hosts and as an expansion pack for the HALion library with HALion (version 4.5.3 or higher), HALion Sonic (version 1.6.2 or higher) or HALion Sonic SE* (version 1.6.1 or higher). The instrument installer includes the latest updater for HALion Sonic SE
