MP3 conversion: created file is offset

Post by ScherzoProd » Tue Aug 30, 2016 6:05 pm

On converting a 24/48 wav file to mp3 using the render function - no plugins on master buss, the resulting file is offset by around 25msec. Since the file being generated is a click, the band is getting a little confused..

Any idea why this happens and how to prevent/fix it?

It's normal in MP3 and AAC. Added silence at the beginning is called Delay. Added silence at the end is called Padding.
Under Compression Scheme Artifacts:

Do you have to use MP3?

Thanks, that explains it perfectly. It's a 3 hour show, so didn't really want to download the existing stems which are in wav - I'll just trim the click files, zip and send through
