Discrepancy between input track and recorded track

Hi,

The level on the input track is 3 dB louder than the record enabled track.

If I record something with my mic and look at the channel meters, the record enabled track is excactly 3 dB lower than the input channel.

Does anyone have the solution/explanation to this?

Thanks!

Several possibilities. Most probably Pan law. Hard to tell without any info on track configuartion and meter settings

Thanks svennilenni.

What info do you need?

Both the input channel and the record enabled channel are mono tracks. No inserts on the channels. Faders on 0.

Could the pan law setting really have anything to do with this?

Change panlaw to 0db while watching your meters and you’ll be able to answer that question definitively yourself.

I don’t believe it is pan law if the difference is definitely between input and record channel. If you’re looking at a group channel or the stereo out you would see a difference.
