Great to hear that playback is in the works; it’s just that for the eager and enthusiastic a “very long time” is not necessarily that long… Anyway, you answered my question, that was what I meant. Those multiple layouts will be useful in this. This way of working, while not ideal, is still much more practical than to make the playback file in a DAW and treat the notation software as a purely graphical tool. Besides, this would be the way to write a microtonal keyboard piece: the printed score shows the keys to be played, while a microtonally notated version would be for study purposes only (it shows the notes that are heard but not where they land on the keys).
