Key commands/keyboard shortcuts in German Dorico 1.0.30

I’m sorry to say that a syntax error in the default key commands file for the German-language version of Dorico snuck past our internal and beta testing and results in Dorico having no keyboard shortcuts/key commands available at all unless you have your own custom set of key commands installed.

We are in the process of evaluating how best to issue a proper fix for this problem, but in the meantime, an easy solution is available, and is described in this Knowledge Base article.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Further to this, some of the instrument names in German may show as blank lines instead of the English strings (they are still being translated at the moment).

To fix this, you can unzip the attached file and copy the instrumentnames_de.xml file into this folder

on Windows: %PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\Dorico\l10n and
on Mac: into the Application bundle (usually /Applications/Dorico.app/Contents/Resources/l10n/)
instrumentnames_de.xml.zip (14 KB)
Again, apologies for any confusion or inconvenience caused.

Marcel Vonesch, a teacher, composer and guitarist in Switzerland who will be hosting a Dorico event this Saturday, has generously offered to share a pair of resources for German users. He has come up with his own preferred set of key commands, and has also prepared a short German-language introduction to Dorico, both of which are attached to this message. Thanks, Marcel!
