It sounds like you may want to upgrade to Windows 10! But. that’s kind-of beside the point. Since you agree (and have demonstrated) that MIDI recording in the proposed circumstance is delayed by the reported input latency of the audio interface, should the triggering of the associated VSTi also be delayed by the reported input latency of the audio interface?
