Although the problem shouldn’t occur with your RME, I have a similar setup, where changing the interface’s sample rate is a troublesome process (the interface is my digital mixer as well). A very simple way to get around the issue is to install an SRC in the playback section (if you have WL Pro) and leave its output at your current interface sample rate.
