Is it not possible to select several tracks and hold shift and cmd (mac) to hide multiple tracks with one click?

Sounds like your talking about Pro Tools. In Nuendo you cannot hide tracks in a sense of “vanishing from the timeline” to my knowledge. You can either work with folder tracks or toggle the track list to if you want ot clean up your timeline visually.

Use the + on the mixer (LHS where it says ±x) to set all selected channels to “Can Hide”.
Would be cool to have such a function for the timeline, and not only for the mixer.
