I finally connected my MacBook Pro to an external Focusrite scarlet sound card and after an hour of use cubase started spluttering and slowing down like crazy. I adjusted all the settings I could and still no joy. But then upon reboot everything was fine and actually my cpu use went down to zero which I found incredible. It then did crash on me once. When I’d never had crashes before. But in the whole seems still relatively stable.
