We are delighted to announce the release of Dorico Pro 2, a major new update to Dorico, and the introduction of Dorico Elements 2, a new entry-level version of Dorico. We are also introducing a brand new and very beautiful new web site for Dorico today, where you can find all of the essential information.
With the introduction of Dorico Elements, Dorico is now called Dorico Pro, to reflect its place at the top of the product line. You can read all about the new features in Dorico Pro 2 on the New in 2 page on the new Dorico web site, but here’s a quick list of highlights:
• Compose to video with integrated video window, plus comprehensive support for markers and timecode
• Large time signatures for Hollywood-style scores and parts
• Tempo and MIDI continuous controller lanes in Play mode
• Smart staff management tools, including a unique and powerful approach to divisi, plus ossias and changing the number of staves of any instrument at any point
• New arranging tools, including multi-paste, Explode, Reduce, and quick commands to move material between staves
• Rhythm section notation including slashes and bar repeats
• Basic playback of repeat structures, and playback of microtonal accidentals using VST Note Expression
• Brand new handwritten music font family, called Petaluma

Important Mac OS X compatibility note
Although Dorico 1.x was officially supported on only Mac OS X 10.11 or later, in fact it used to run on versions as far back as Mac OS X 10.9. Dorico 2, on the other hand, will not even run on computers running Mac OS X earlier than 10.11 (El Capitan), so please be aware of that before you buy. Dorico’s compatibility on Windows is unchanged.
