On this issue I can agree - when I renamed the AppData file folder and started Cubase Pro 8 up, I was required to go through my Preferences and reset them.
However, until I took this step, CP8 was unable to do what it clearly was engineered to do. Yeah, I understand why some might consider this to be a hassle, but in my case I considered it to be one that was worth the time and effort. Since then, I have been thrilled with my CP8, and would never think of using anything else.
