Is this true? Why WHY, after 10 years of updates and numerous complaints, has no one ever mentioned this before? WHY is it not mentioned ON THE INSTALLATION SCREEN.
But of course, since I’ve already installed 9.5 and spent a day setting it up, it’s too late to try…
Simple, except that it doesn’t work, at least not perfectly (as has been stated here previously). SOME settings get transferred, others don’t. Also, this method is error-prone. It’s too easy to copy to or from the wrong directory and screw up your installation.
I used Phil Pendlebury’s prefs backup/restore utility. Worked fairly well, but as I said, some settings didn’t transfer. Why can’t Steinberg handle updates the way every other software maker in the damn universe does?
